Kibosh Shield can be used in multiple scenarios: on a router, on a mobile device, on a server, or on a Windows Laptop.

Enabling Kibosh Shield protection is usually done by changing said devices DNS settings. On Windows however we’ve written a tool that will enforce the use of Kibosh Shield servers at all times. If the user changes the DNS settings, this agent will change them back – silently.

Kibosh Cloud or Router customers can protect their Windows based mobile devices that leave the home using the Kibosh Cloud Mobile Agent (KCMA). The KCMA runs hidden, and will check for unprotected network connections every 15 minutes. When an unprotected network connection is detected (i.e., if pornography is accessible) the KCMA will quietly change the Internet connections DNS servers to Kibosh Cloud’s. If the user changes the local DNS server settings the KCMA will change them back.

The KCMA works on wired and wireless connections.

How to install:

1. Download the Kibosh Cloud Mobile Agent onto each PC you need to protect
   1. NOTE: The KCMA is profile specific, so make sure that, if there are multiple profiles on this PC, you install the KCMA into the correct profile, or install it to all of them.
2. Hold Shift key down, and then right-click the KCMA installer and select Run as Administrator.
3. Enter your KRMU ID (it’s labeled under your Kibosh device, or it’s in your welcome email).
4. That’s it. The Kibosh Cloud mobile agent will run hidden, and check for an unprotected Internet connection every 15 minutes. If one is found it will be secured with Kibosh Cloud’s web filter protection without any user interaction.

NOTE: The KCMA is profile specific.

How to confirm it’s working:

1. During installation you should get an “Installation Successful” message.
2. Run the ebay test: go to www.ebay.com and search for ‘abcd1234’ – if the device is protected you will receive a Kibosh Filter Success message.
3. Edit the Local Area Network adapter, and in TCP/IP v4 settings you’ll see Kibosh Cloud’s DNS servers. Change it back to DHCP, and check again in 15 minutes.
4. Hit your Windows key + R, and then type ‘cmd’ in the Run box, and then type ‘ipconfig /all’ in the DOS window – check the DNS server settings on your Local Area Network connection (they should point to Kibosh Cloud’s).
5. Hit your Windows key + R, and then type ‘cmd’ in the Run box, then type ‘ping boobs.com’ in the DOS window, or any other porn site. If protected by Kibosh Cloud it will return 192.149.240.25 (our block page).

Note: This is a young app, so please keep checking back as we will be adding more features like MyFilter dashboard integration, tracking, etc.

How to uninstall:

• Download and run the installer which has a ‘remove’ option.
