< Back

The Kibosh Filtering Service (KFS) is the proprietary Internet content filter that powers all Kibosh products. It’s the magic that   removes the bad stuff from the Internet.

The KFS utilizes multiple technologies to produce a simple, yet comprehensive service that makes your Internet infinitely safer, faster and more reliable by instantly protecting every device on your network from pornography, malware, and phishing related websites, bad search terms, bad video and image search results.

There is no service like the KFS in the world today.

What comprises Kibosh Filtering Service:

  • Content filtering
    • Pornographic websites blocked
    • SafeSearch enforced on Google, Bing, Ask, Info, Wow, Go, YouTube, and more.
    • URL filters block bad search terms, enforce SafeSearch
  • Web Security
    • Malware blocked
    • Phishing sites blocked
    • Bypass proxy sites blocked
    • Illegal downloads blocked (torrents)

The KFS is cloud based (i.e. it exists on the Internet, and not on a server in your closet), and as such it can be used on any Internet capable device. When used on a router all devices using that router will be protected.

How does it work?

When you search for Internet content you’ll use a search engine like Google.com, or Bing.com. Post search, you will receive a few categories of Internet content. The number of categories will vary across search engines, but you will always get these three: Web, Image and Video, and it is these categories that would contain pornographic, or malware infected websites.

When you click on one of these categories you’ll get a list of best guess results.

bing_porn What is the Kibosh Filtering Service?

As you can see from this image, a search for porn will yield no results on a Kibosh protected network, because Kibosh turns on, and enforces, SafeSearch. With SafeSearch enabled the search engine will not return pornographic content, thus ensuring that:

  1. Terms that would return pornography are blocked.
  2. Image and Video results will not contain pornography.

If anything does slip through SafeSearch, or if the user tries to access a bad website directly (i.e. by typing the address into the URL bar) our proprietary domain blocking ensures that the website is blocked.

The end result is an Internet thoroughly free from pornography.

The KFS is constantly being updated, in the background, to address an ever changing, and evolving Internet, and associated threats.

The KFS is subscription based.
