Kibosh Router / Cloud / 360 owners can manage devices on their networks by doing things like scheduling Internet access times. These rules are assigned to a device’s IP, and if that IP changes the rule will stop working. So, for Parental Control rules to work correctly, long term, you will want to assign a static IP / Name to each device you want to manage.
Video: How to assign a name & IP to a device for Parental Controls (2.41m).
How to assign a name & IP to a device:
- Go to MyFilter > Manage Device > Device Naming
- Select from Currently Connected Hosts > choose the device you want to tag.
- Enter a friendly name like ‘iphone’
- No ‘_’ underscores, or blank spaces allowed. Just use ‘-‘ hyphens to break up words.
NOTE: If you assign a new IP to a device that you want to immediately apply rules to you’ll need to reboot that device so that it will pick up the new IP, or you can wait a few hours, and it will pick it up on it’s own.
NOTE: Device Naming will auto-assign a Static IP – you can accept this, or enter your own.
